If you are new here, welcome to my site. If you are a return reader, then you're probably wondering why my site looks different...again. You should know that I'm very indecisive and have yet to come across a website design that I'm completely happy with. I won't find what feels right unless I keep trying different designs, but that isn't why I've been gone for the past two weeks.
I've probably said this a million times, but natural hair is hard, man. There are so many obstacles that come with being natural. There's no one size fits all method. You have figure out what products and what techniques work for your hair, and that takes time and money. Being natural is expensive. Being natural is frustrating because your hair might not do what you want it to do. Your hair might not be what you thought it was.
I'm sick of seeing stories about men and women getting judged by their hair. I'm sick of seeing women get fired because they chose to wear an afro. I'm sick of seeing teenagers getting banned from their prom because they wore braids to school. I'm sick of seeing stories of a teenager being forced to cut his dreadlocks before a wrestling match. I'm sick of seeing these stories.
Don't get me wrong, I love my natural hair, but of course, like with everything, there are a few things I wish I could change.
I have been putting off writing this blog post for about two months now, and I think it's about time I tell you about me cutting off my hair before it gets away from me.
Some of you might not know that I've been natural since 2015. Ever since then, my goal was to have healthy long natural hair. All my life I've aspired to have long hair whether I wore it straight or curly. This was mostly influenced by the society we live in where long hair is seen as beautiful, and you are not as appealing if you have short hair. I saw long hair as beauty for so long, but that thought started to change as I went through my natural hair journey.
I think it's fair to say that most people prefer summer over winter. A lot of people like the warm weather, the ability to go swimming, and putting together barbeques. Other people enjoy the freezing white stuff (that doesn't stay white for long) that falls from the sky. Which do I prefer? Neither, actually. I'm more of a fall person, not too hot and not too cold.
While I love Christmas and Valentines Day, here are 4 things I hate about winter.
I know a new blog post is long overdue and I'm sorry for being absent for the past few weeks. A lot of things are going on in my life which I will be writing about when I get a chance. The primary reason why I haven't written anything in a while is that I'm a college senior and it's nearing the end of the semester. You know what that means.
Projects, exams, tests, and more projects!
Since I am a college senior and I'm swamped with assignments, I thought it would be appropriate for me to share my study habits to reduce stress.
In this post, I'm going to share my dating app experience.
What exactly is my niche? What is the purpose of my blog?
I don't have a freaking clue.
Here are five tips that might help you finish a book if you find that you're getting stuck.
Alright, let's get right into this thing.
